Why I Set the Psalms to Modern Music — From Folk to Metal to EDM

Biblical truth. Modern sound. Every genre. One purpose.

It started simply. No grand plan. No vision of 37 albums. No roadmap from Genesis to Revelation. What made it possible was AI music technology — the ability to create albums about God in real time, bringing Scripture to sound faster than any traditional recording process would allow. It made my musical gift alive and possible.

A Bible study and a question:

What if the Psalms didn't just sit on a page? Psalms to modern music.

Why I Set the Psalms to Modern Music

I turned to the Psalms.

Not to perform them. Not to record a traditional hymn album. But to make them alive — to hear what Psalm 23 sounds like in folk, what Psalm 46 feels like in EDM, what the raw cry of Psalm 22 sounds like translated into something you might hear driving down a highway at midnight.

I wanted the Psalms to be something you could listen to — not just study.

Every Genre. Every Emotion.

The Psalms themselves are not one thing. They are not always peaceful. They are not always triumphant. They are:

• Desperate cries for help

• Songs of uncontainable joy

• Meditations of deep trust

• Warfare prayers

• Whispered confessions

• Declarations of God's eternal reign

So why would I set them all to the same musical style?

I chose the genre to match the emotion of each Psalm.

• A Psalm of peaceful refuge became Folk — gentle, intimate, close

• A Psalm of God's consuming fire became EDM — relentless, overwhelming, powerful

• A Psalm of raw spiritual warfare became Metal — unfiltered, fierce, honest

• A Psalm of joyful celebration became Country — warm, communal, free

• A Psalm of God's majesty became Techno — vast, mechanical, unstoppable

The sound serves the Scripture. Every time.

I Never Planned to Go Beyond the Psalms

My original goal was to cover the Psalms as part of a broader Bible study. I didn't get past five books.

Not because I stopped. But because God had other plans.

Something kept pulling me forward. The creative door that opened through the Psalms wouldn't close.

So I kept going.

From the Psalms to the Whole Bible

What began as a Psalms project became something much larger. I started taking entire biblical chapters and themes and turning them into albums:

• Authority — God's battle from Genesis to Revelation. His authority versus man's authority. Alternative Rock.

• Miracles — The miracles of Jesus told through Country music

• The Star — The nativity story set to EDM

• Breath of Life — Creation and the Genesis account

• Revelation — An audio film experience through the book of Revelation in EDM

• Every Knee — The declaration of Philippians 2 in Alternative

• Everlasting Throne — God's eternal reign in EDM

• Son of Man — The life and identity of Jesus in Metal

Each album takes a piece of Scripture and asks:

What does this sound like in today's world?

And Then There's the Personal

Not every album comes directly from Scripture. A few come from life.

Because the Bible doesn't just live in ancient texts. It lives in the middle of real struggles, real heartbreak, real joy, real questions. Some of my albums reflect exactly that — my own life, my own journey, my own conversations with God through music.

Those albums sit alongside the biblical ones because that's how faith actually works. Scripture and life are not separate. They speak to each other constantly.

What This Library Is

Looking back at over 37 albums spanning Folk, Metal, EDM, Techno, Country, Rock, Hip Hop, Jazz, Soundtrack, and Alternative — I realize what this has become.

It's not just a music library.

It's a musical journey through the entire Bible — from the creation in Genesis to the final revelation of John — told in the language of today's culture, available to anyone regardless of whether they've ever opened a Scripture in their life.

That was never the plan. But it became the calling.
